In 2007 Chris competed in the ASCS National Tour for the first part of the season. He was running 8th in overall points after the first 16 events. Chris then went on th race in the Knoxville Nationals where he finished first in the E-Main on the final night. Chris returned to Canada to race for Jim Albert of Edmonton, Alberta, wher he competed in the NSCS, World of Outlaws, and the Dirt Cup and 360 Nationals at Skagit in Washington.
2006 saw Chris qualify to represent Canada at the Word Challenge Race during the Knoxville Nationals. While there, he also competed in the 360 Nationals, 410 Nationals and the Brodix Tournament of Champions. Chris ran a handfull of ASCS events scoring a 5th place finish at Hartford, SD. Back in Alberta, Chris won the Pembina Cup at Drayton Valley, AB, running in the AST , sweeping the second night of competition.
In 2005, Chris drove
for Midgley Motorsports in the Nascar Grand National West
Series. In 5 races Chris completed 97.9% of all laps possible
with no DNF’s. After competing at California Speedway
in Fontana, California, Chris is qualified to run Super
Speedways. His most notable finish was a 8th at Evergreen
Speedway, Washington in the Coors Light 200.
As a
rookie in the BCRA Midget series, he ran in 5 events
driving for Steve Barnett Racing out of Seattle Washington.
Of these 5 races, he finished in the top 10 twice and had
one A dash win. He also led the most laps at Lakeport Speedway,
California but unfortunately got caught up in a wreck and
failed to finish (this was Chris’s only DNF of the
season).
Also in 2005, with his own 360 Dirt
Sprint Car, Chris competed in 4 NST races, the 360 Nationals
at Skagit Speedway and the Gold Cup in Edmonton, Alberta,
where he finished 6th in the A main. Chris qualified for the 2006
Clean O World Challenge Sprint Car Race in Knoxville and
was voted one of the top 12 open wheel drivers in Canada
by “Inside Canadian Racing”, a leader in Canadian
racing news.
Chris also ran one of his old cars in a race
in the Wilroc Pavement Sprint Series for G-Force Racing
where he set Fast Time against a very competitive field of drivers.
In previous years
Chris has competed in numerous Series’ including USAC,
NST, NSRA, Wilroc and IMCA. During this time Chris has been
Rookie of the Year at Skagit Speedway (360 Sprints), Cassidy
Speedway (Ltd. Sprints), and the IMCA. Some notable finishes
were a 4th in Season Pts at Skagit Speedway, Washington,
and 2 top 10 finishes at the 360 Nationals and 4 top 10
finishes at the Gold Cup in Edmonton, Alberta.
Most of Chris’s racing career
has been running limited schedules in different series’
working on becoming a more versatile driver and gaining
experience at different tracks. In the last 4 years alone Chris has run 6 different types of cars at 41 different tracks in 17 states and 2 provinces. |
